The Olympic torch reached Glasgow on June 8 and with it a prayer baton making a parallel journey around the United Kingdom.
In St Enoch Square, representatives of Glasgow Churches Together welcomed Liz Lennox from More than Gold, the organisation which facilitates the church’s response to the Olympics, together with Captain Matt Butler of the Salvation Army’s city centre corps.
They were accompanied by a ‘Praise Coach’ and representatives of Belfast and London with the baton, and prayers were forwarded to Inverness, the next destination for both torch and baton.
