It started by spotting that a great personalty was carrying the Olympic Torrch somewhere on one of Blacpool's historic trams. I sent a message to his church in Southport -Lancashire, and rec'd the following info which I think is most encouraging:

How God blesses us all in different ways when we take ground for the Kingdom.  It is so good to hear of those who are thrilled that the building is back into Kingdom business. We run a CAP (Christians Against Poverty) centre in the building. We have a food bank giving out to over 40 people a day Mon to Friday. Both these ministries are feeding people into our Alpha Course and our Celebrate Recovery 12 step programme and coming to know the Lord. It is wonderful.  The church is filling up with those who have been the nothings in the world and they are becoming the precious children of God.

God is bountiful in his blessing. We also run a student programme called Southport Masters Commission and we have Students who come from all over the world .  We have just celebrated our 2012 class graduation. We had students from Albania, Poland Czech, USA UK and look forward to another intake in September. These kids study the Bible and become accredited but they serve the church in every area of its life. They work very hard and learn to serve the Master practically and spiritually. They are here to “know God and to make Him known”

The place is buzzing and full of life. Every month it seems another baby is born into the family At this very moment our retiring director of Masters Commission is in the hospital having her second baby.

Loads of love to you and all working for God with you

Vic

Thanks Syd

The whole of June has been remarkable.  Full of good things .

Just on another encouraging note. There is a great move of togetherness and love among many of the larger churches in the town. For four years we have been meeting to pray every Tuesday at 7.30am to 8.30am beginning with 5 Churches in 2008 and now in 2012 15 churches belong to the group we move from church to church each month and generally 40 people are present. We pray for our town and many great things have happened We now have Street Pastors, Praise in the Park (Botanic Gardens)  The March of Witness and many other things we do as Churches together. Since we began praying the Salvation Army who had been trying to buy the plot of ground next door to their Citadel were able to do so and a magnificent modern building has been completed and is a great testimony to the Lord’s goodness. Elim church have moved to bigger premises and Community Church are looking to do the same. Christ Church had an outreach truck on the streets of the town and now open their cafe as a soup kitchen on Thursdays Community church work with our Food Bank and the Soup Kitchen (Pastor Pete and I started this under God several years ago and it is now a Charity in its own right) and do a special meal – proper silver service for the clients once a quarter.

Wonderful

God is on the move
