Day 1 of ICCJ Conference

Posted on July 2, 2012 at 22:31 1 Comment

We're in Manchester and had a mini tour of the city- the hive of industry - which is illustrated by the images of bees on things as varied as bins and beer barrels.

The strength of the Christian Jewish friendships and active collaboration in this city is very edifying.  The helpfulness and care of the volunteers from the Manchester CCJ is fantastic.  Inputs have been excellent on the main theme of Multiculturalism and Social Responsibility. I am attending this conference which has not been held in England for 21 years. It is the 70th anniversary year of the founding of the Council of Christians and Jews -  70 years of pioneering vision as Revd David Gifford, the Director of CCJ said.

We have arranged a conference specifically for the Interfaith advocates from each of the URC Synods.  It is at Swanwick, and the preferred dates so far are October 11th/12th (not yet beeked - we're taking a doodle vote).  If you might be interested, let me have your e-mail address and I'll send you a booking form as soon as we have firmed the date.

Thanks for your note re Unity Post. I'm impressed with the way you are connecting with this new-fangled technology thing. I'm still struggling with the difference between comment, blog and discussion. But, eventually, it might just work... Clive

Hello Celia,  I do not expect to be particularly active on this, but it is good to hear from old friends and to confirm that I am still around, even if 'retired'.  I am glad to know of your current area of activity which is such an important one.
