Glasgow Passion Play
Does anyone know anything about this?

It describes itself as
"The Glasgow Passion 2011 is a new and modern interpretation of what is arguably the greatest story ever told - the story of Jesus. Over the centuries it's been expressed in different ways but this fresh adaptation, written by award- winning Scottish playwright, Rob Drummond, engages with contemporary culture and promises to enthrall and challenge today's audience."

Thanks John, this looks really interesting. The National Theatre of Wales performed a modern interpretation of the Passion in Port Talbot last month.
There's a radio interview with the producer of the Glasgow Passion, Suzanne Lofthus, on the website you've mentioned (http://www.glasgowpassion.co.uk/category/media) which explains a bit about the production.

Cutting Edge Productions is looking to contact Churches in and around Glasgow to work with them on this project. I saw/experienced the Manchester Passion Play a few years ago. If this is similar it is well worth going along to see. In Manchester, the city centre began the setting for dramatic representation of the various parts of the Passion. The last supper was fish and chips near the Cathedral. Disciples fell asleep in door ways. There was excellent use of contemporary music and songs. The Roman authorities arresting Jesus were riot police and the convicted J was presented in Guantanamo Bay orange boiler suit... The resurrection scene was surprising as you half think it has ended but the air was electric as a resurrected Jesus appeared in a brilliant white boiler suit at the top of Manchester town hall.
As many folks were just going about their usual weekend socialising and wondered at what was going on, asked others and wanted to have a look themselves. It was hugely authentic interpretation and the BBC recorded it but I did not see it myself afterwards. I think it was done in Liverpool a year later.
If this is similar it should be interesting evening for folks who are able to stand for a while and get to Glasgow.Marion
